Alter Ego (Su)

A thancrus can assume the form of a specific Small or Medium humanoid. This functions as the change shape special quality, except that the thancrus cannot choose the form it assumes.

Armblades (Ex)

A thancrus’ armblades are treated as primary natural weapons that deal slashing damage and threaten a critical hit on a roll of 19-20. A thancrus can modify its damage dealt with its armblades with Dexterity.

Blinding Speed (Ex)

Three times per day, a thancrus can move its speed as a swift action. This movement does not provoke attacks of opportunity.

High Frequency Blades (Su)

A thancrus’ blades vibrate at incredible speeds. It deals an extra 1d6 points of sonic damage with each attack, and it ignores the first 10 points of damage reduction or hardness when attacking a creature or object.

Rapid Strikes (Ex)

A thancrus can attack twice with its armblades as a standard action, and four times as a full attack action.

Zoanoid Saves (Ex)

A thancrus treats Fortitude as its good save and Will as a poor save.


This pale green humanoid is covered in a shell of chitin armor. Its head bears a fin like the plume of a helmet, and four thin tendrils grow from its temples. Its arms end not in hands but vibrating, sword-like blades, each deadly keen. It moves with incredible speed.

A thancrus is a powerful zoanoid designed for speed and precision. They are capable of moving at an incredible pace, covering wide ranges in mere seconds in their search for targets to destroy. Their tentacles are purely sensory, allowing them to detect vibrations and pinpoint hidden foes. Instead of hands, they have deadly blades with a thumb-like projection to aid in balance. These blades vibrate so fast as to create an edge of cutting sound, and a thancrus can chop through enemy fortifications or weapons rapidly to aid their fellows. The fin on a thancrus’ head radiates heat, both to protect them from fire and to cool them down after their incredible exertions.

The personality of a thancrus is typically quiet and reserved. They are thoughtful and observant, and are always contemplating the possible weaknesses of friends and foes alike. They tend to be rather cocky once battle is joined, and a thancrus is often surprised if an enemy can keep up with their barrage of blades. Thancruses work well in groups, either in small squads of their own kind or in mixed zoanid bands.
