Choose acid, cold, electricity, fire, or sonic. The target and its equipment gains resist energy 10 against that energy type. Other effects, such as burn, still happen, but their damage can still be resisted separately.

At 7th level, the target gains resist energy 20 instead.

At 11th level, the target gains resist energy 30 instead.

The spell protects the recipient’s equipment as well.

  • Protection from Energy (2nd): The target absorbs 12 points per caster level of energy damage (to a maximum of 120 points at 10th level) instead. If both spells are active, protection from energy absorbs damage first.
