Description

This +1 longsword inspires awe for its artistic vision and mystical ingenuity. The weapon’s original creator sculpted the blade from solid ice, and forged its pommel, grip, and cross guard from cold iron.

Despite being crafted from solid ice, the blade feels cool, but not cold to the touch. Nonetheless, the ice blade remains frozen even when it is subjected to warm temperatures for a prolonged period or to fire damage from spells and effects. The sword’s magical effects manifest only when it strikes specific types of creatures.

When the weapon hits a creature with the fire subtype, in addition to the attack’s normal damage, the target is also fatigued and sickened for 1 round. If the creature is already fatigued or sickened, it does not become exhausted or nauseated. When the weapon hits a creature with the water subtype, in addition to the attack’s normal damage, the target is slowed (as the slow spell) for 1 round.
