Death Spiral (Combat)

You can spin or hurl a grappled opponent across an icy or snowy surface.

Prerequisite(s): Acrobatics 6 ranks, Improved Grapple.

Benefit(s): While you have an opponent up to one size category larger than you grappled, you can attempt the move grapple action if you and your opponent are standing upon a surface covered in ice, snow, or at the GM’s discretion, another appropriate slippery medium.

If you succeed, instead of moving both yourself and your target up to half your speed, you continuously rotate around an axis in the center of the square(s) you currently occupy while moving your opponent through each square adjacent to you, provoking attacks of opportunity from creatures threatening the squares your opponent passes through when applicable. After you have done so, you can use a move action each round to continue the death spiral without needing to attempt an additional combat maneuver check. You cannot move while maintaining the death spiral.

If you release the grapple, your target falls prone in a square of your choosing adjacent to you. Alternatively, when releasing the grapple, you may attempt to hurl your opponent across the slick surface by making a grapple combat maneuver. If your check succeeds, you hurl your target 5 feet away from you in a direction of your choosing. For every 5 by which your check exceeds your opponent’s CMD, you hurl the target an additional 5 feet. On a failed check, you and your opponent fall prone in a randomly determined square adjacent to your last position.

You cannot use this feat if you are grappling more than one target. If you are wearing ice skates while performing this maneuver on an icy surface, you gain a +4 bonus on your combat maneuver check to begin the death spiral, but you must also succeed on a DC 10 Acrobatics check each round to spin around an axis without falling and thus ending the death spiral.
