Any living creature vulnerable to the poisonous hydra hatchling school’s damage that begins its turn with a creature swarm in its square is nauseated for 1 round. A Fortitude saving throw (DC 20) negates the effect. Even with a successful save, spellcasting or concentrating on spells within the area of a poisonous hydra hatchling swarm requires a Concentration check (DC 20 + spell level). Using skills requiring patience and concentration requires a Will save (DC 20).

ECOLOGY

Organization solitary, spawning ground (2-6)
Treasure none

Young hydras spend their first few months in aquatic schools, which are a deadly threat to any creature that stumbles upon them.
