Crystalworm bioliths are enormous, crystalline beasts from the Elemental Plane of Earth. Sustained by a diet of rocks and minerals, crystalworms derive no nourishment from the flesh of other creatures. Despite this, crystalworms are notorious apex predators, attacking, swallowing, and killing other subterranean creatures as a display of aggression.

Fiercely territorial, a crystalworm often regurgitates shredded corpses in caverns at the edges of its territory, often the corpses of other dangerous predators, such as gugs. This tactic is intended to discourage visitors, and to lure scavengers that would otherwise be prowling the interior of the crystalworm’s territory to its perimeter, where they are free to feast upon the flesh of those who dared to disturb the crystalworm’s lair.
