Chir’mador

Physical Description: Standing between 5’5’’ and 7’ these bipedal insect-like creatures have hardened shells upon their body protecting their soft and squishy insides. Atop their shells (and not very fitting visually) is a canine-like head with dozens of sharp teeth, large antennae on the top of their head for sensing in the dark. The original Chir’mador come from the Dead Zone, their hard shells were made to cover their inner organs which could succumb to the radiation, their canine head and shell being the parts of their body that are immune.

Society: Harsh and brutal, the Chir’mador make their home in the scrub plains close by to the Dead Zone in the many tents they fashion from animal hides and the flesh of their enemies. Chir’mador culture makes it a point to promote the use of force for one’s own benefit, and detests those that are weak. Young are expected to slay their own food by age 5, and those that fail to do this are cannibalized so that they may serve a use beyond being dead weight.

Relations: Chir’mador often butt heads with other races due to their territorial and aggressive nature, however this aggressiveness rarely involves violence. Other races try to avoid contact with Chir’mador and do not interact with them, viewing their appearance as demonic, and their nomadic lifestyle making it difficult to relate to others.

Alignment and Religion: Chir’mador are very honor-driven, making blood pacts with one another in order to keep promises and view breaking an individual’s trust to be one of the greatest sins one can commit. Often Chir’mador are Lawful Neutral. Chir’mador worship the Nature Mother they named ‘Hikara’ and honor her teachings, to see great beauty in life and the world, and to preserve it. They openly oppose ‘The Black’, their personification of radiation, filth, and rot, and detest his destructive ways.

Adventurers: Chir’mador make excellent fighters or barbarians, but are often inept in the ways of social rules. Often those who wander outside of their tribe are looking for some deeper purpose, going on an elaborate ‘spirit journey’.
