Tamperer

Using the power of the mind over the power of their will or personality, the tamperer casts potent psychic magic.

The tamperer is an archetype of the pupil class.

Psychic Spellcasting

A tamperer is a psychic spellcaster who uses Intelligence instead of Charisma to cast spells. The tamperer draws psychic spells from any psychic spell list.

Like the psychic, a tamperer’s selection of spells is extremely limited. A tamperer begins play knowing four 0-level knacks and two 1st-level spells of her choice. At each new tamperer level, she gains one or more new spells, as indicated on the psychic’s Table: Psychic Spells Known. Unlike spells per day, the number of spells a tamperer knows is not affected by her Intelligence score; the numbers on Table: Psychic Spells Known are fixed.

Knacks: Tamperers learn a number of knacks, or 0-level spells. These spells are cast like any other spell, but they don’t consume any slots and can be used again. Knacks cast using other spell slots (due to metamagic feats, for example) consume spell slots as normal.

This replaces the pupil’s Spellcasting.

Minor Phrenic Pool

A tamperer gains a minor Phrenic Pool as per the Psychic equal to their Charisma or Wisdom modifier. At 4th level and every 4 levels thereafter, they gain a Phrenic Amplifications. If it has a level requirement, treat their psychic level as their tamperer level -3.

This replaces the pupil’s Metamagic Feats.
