Rover (Investigator Archetype)

Rovers care little for exploring the complexities of various poisons. Instead, they delight in using magical ways of getting from here to there. A rover has the following class features.

Traveler of Roads (Sp)

At 2nd level, a rover gains the spells listed below (as soon as they are capable of casting spells of the designated level) as spell-like abilities. Each spell can be cast once per day. Furthermore, starting at 8th level, a rover can teleport up to 10 feet per rover level per day as a move action. This teleportation must be used in 5-foot increments and such movement does not provoke attacks of opportunity. The rover must have line of sight to their destination to use this ability. The rover can bring other willing creatures with them, but they must expend an equal amount of distance for each creature brought.

1stlongstrider; 2ndgrace; 3rdphantom steed (with the caveat that the steed never gains the ability at 14th level to fly); 4thfreedom of movement; 5thteleport; 6thfind the path.

This replaces poison lore and poison resistance, along with all of poison resistance’s improvements and eventual immunity.

Crossing Borders (Ex)

In the course of their travels, rovers have the opportunity to converse with a variety of races. At 3rd level, a rover learns 2 languages of their choice. At 6th level, and every three levels thereafter through 18th level, a rover adds 1 additional language to their list of known languages. This replaces trap sense.

Unrestricted Exploration (Ex)

At 4th level, a rover can select one bonus feat from the following list: Acrobatic Steps, Fleet, or Nimble Moves. The rover must meet all prerequisites. This replaces swift alchemy.
