Wendigo Bloodline

The stain of the wendigo’s evil plagues your lineage.

One of these monstrous outsiders slew a family member, drove him or her insane, or even worse. You feel drawn to the creature’s vile power or are committed to righting its countless wrongs.

Bloodline Arcana: When a hunger maven casts a spell with the cold or fear descriptor, increase the spell’s save DC by 1.

Wendigo Claws (Ex)

At 1st level, the hunger maven can grow claws as a free action. These claws function as natural weapons, allowing him to make two claw attacks as a full attack action using his full base attack bonus. Each of these attacks deals 1d4 points of damage plus his Strength modifier (1d3 if he is Small).

At 5th level, these claws are considered magic weapons for the purpose of overcoming DR. At 7th level, the damage increases by one step to 1d6 points of damage (1d4 if he is Small). At 11th level, these claws deal an additional 1d6 points of cold damage on a successful hit. He can use these claws for a number of rounds per day equal to 3 + his Charisma modifier.

These rounds need not be consecutive.

Wendigo Resistance (Ex)

At 3rd level, a hunger maven gains resist cold 5 and a +4 bonus on saves against fear. At 9th level, his resistance to cold increases to 10 and he is immune to fear. At 15th level, he gains DR 2/cold iron and magic.

Wendigo Howl (Su)

At 9th level, a hunger maven can emit an ungodly howl heard up to one mile away. Any creature that hears the howl must succeed on a Will saving throw (DC 10 + 1/2 his sorcerer level + his Charisma modifier) or become shaken for 1 hour.

Creatures within 120 feet that fail the Will saving throw are panicked for 1d4+4 rounds instead, while those within 30 feet cower with fear for 1d4 rounds.

This is a mind-affecting fear effect with audible components. At 9th level, he can use this ability once per day. At 16th level, he can use this ability twice per day, and at 20th level, he can use this ability three times per day.

Psychotic Curse (Su)

At 15th level, the hunger maven can instill psychosis in a single living creature within 30 feet. If the target fails a Will saving throw (DC 10 + 1/2 his sorcerer level + his Charisma modifier), the subject immediately suffers 1d4 Wisdom drain. Each minute thereafter the target must succeed on a new Will saving throw or take an additional 1d4 Wisdom drain. This process continues until the victim succeeds on three consecutive saves or its Wisdom score reaches 1. If the latter occurs, the victim suffers from wendigo psychosis (see “Wendigo”) for the effects of this curse. He may use this ability once per day.

Wendigo Transformation (Su)

At 20th level, the hunger maven gains immunity to cold and blindsense 60 feet.

He also gains DR 10/cold iron and magic.
