Ley Weaver

Ley weavers have learned to tap into the primordial currents of energy that flow through the world, channeling it into supernatural feats of power. To some, this comes as instinctually as cupping water from a stream, while to others it takes long hours of study and practice to be able to feel the swirl of the ley.

Ley Pool

As their familiarity with the basic energy of the world grows, ley weavers learn to directly manipulate the energies invoked but not always understood by other druids. At 4th level, a ley weaver gains a pool of ley points, supernatural energy she can use to power her abilities. The number of points in a ley weaver’s pool is equal to two less than her ley weaver level + her Wisdom modifier.

Ley Power

A ley weaver can select a ley power (see below) for which she qualifies in place of the following druid class abilities: wild shape (4th, 6th, 8th, 10th, 12th, 20th), venom immunity (9th), a thousand faces (13th), timeless body (15th).

This replaces the druid class ability the ley weaver gives up for this ley power.

Ley powers are abilities that draw on the primal energy of the world. The standard druid has seve ral abilities that count as ley powers, such as wild shape and a thousand faces. A ley weaver can learn additional ley powers, which often replace non-ley abilities such as timeless body. Ley powers are divided into two categories: druid abilities and spells.

Druid Abilities

Some ley powers are standard druid abilities. Even if a ley weaver selects a different ley power in place of a standard druid ability, she can select that druid ability later as one of her ley powers. Wild shape deserves special note, in that its daily limit on a number of uses is now based on the ley pool instead of an extra time every two levels, but still, has a duration of 1 hour per ley weaver level.

Spells

These ley powers duplicate the effects of a spell, and are spell-like abilities. A ley weaver’s class level is the caster level for these spell-like abilities, and she uses Wisdom to determine her concentration check bonus.

Requirements: All ley powers have a minimum ley weaver level requirement to select them. A ley weaver who does not meet this requirement cannot select that ley power. In addition, an ability with a numeral after it requires all lower numbered versions of that ability to already have been selected.

Activation: Most ley powers require the ley weaver to spend ley points; the exact amount is listed after the ley power. Ley powers that cost 0 do not require the ley weaver to have any ley points in her pool to use the ability.

The saving throw against a ley weaver’s power, if any, is equal to 10 + 1/2 the ley weaver’s level + the ley weaver’s Wisdom bonus.
