Rage Powers – Samurai Sheepdog

Bloodcaster (Sp)

Prerequisite(s): Cha 13, barbarian level 6th.

A barbarian with this rage power knows and can cast spells as a bloodrager of her barbarian level, but only while she is raging. She can cast and concentrate on those spells, even while raging. Casting a spell in this way costs the barbarian 1 round of her rage per spell level (including the round she spends casting it). She can use this rage power once per day, plus once per day for each bloodrager’s instinct rage power she possesses.

Fury Companion (Su)

Prerequisite(s): Lesser fury companion, barbarian level 6th.

A barbarian with this rage power can instill her fury companion with some of her own rage and anger. When she conjures her companion, the barbarian can choose to grant it her rage bonuses to attacks, damage, and Will saving throws while she rages and it remains within 50 feet of her.

Each round spent in this way counts as two rounds of rage.

Fury Companion, Greater (Su)

Prerequisite(s): Fury companion, lesser fury companion, barbarian level 10th.

A barbarian with this rage power can conjure a stronger fury to aid her against her enemies. When she conjures her fury companion, she can either conjure a druid’s animal companion, or grant her companion her rage bonuses without spending additional rounds of rage (your choice).

Once this choice is made, it cannot be changed (but it can be retrained like any rage power). The barbarian’s effective level with her druid’s companion is still equal to her barbarian level –3.

Fury Companion, Lesser (Su)

A barbarian with this rage power can call on a fury—a vengeful nature spirit—to aid her in combat.

When the barbarian enters rage, she also conjures a ranger’s animal companion to fight alongside her until it is slain or dismissed, or until her rage ends. This can be a different creature each time. The barbarian’s effective druid level with her companion is equal to her barbarian level –3 (minimum 1st). Even when raging, the barbarian can concentrate enough to give her companion orders while it remains within 50 feet of her.

The first time she conjures her companion each day, its hit points are full. Each time after, the companion’s hit points are the same as they were when last it disappeared. If the companion was slain, it instead comes back with half its total hit points, and both the companion and the barbarian suffer a –2 morale penalty on attacks for the duration of rage.

During downtime, the barbarian can train one of the creatures she is able to call upon without restriction. If she enters combat while attempting to do so, she must enter her rage at the start of her first turn or spend her standard action dismissing her companion.

She gains a bite attack that deals 1d4 piercing damage (if she is Medium) plus her Strength modifier. When used as part of a full-attack action, the bite attack is made at the barbarian’s full base attack bonus –5, and she adds only 1/2 her Strength modifier to the damage roll.

Ronin’s Resolve (Ex)

Prerequisite(s): Barbarian level 6th.

As a standard action, a barbarian with this rage power can spend half of her remaining rounds of rage (rounded up, maximum 5) to remove the fatigued, shaken, or sickened condition.

The barbarian can activate this rage power when she is not raging, but doing so also causes her to enter her rage for at least 1 round. She cannot activate this rage power if it would leave her with 0 rounds of rage remaining.

If a condition removed in this way has a duration longer than 1 hour or is permanent, the barbarian removes the condition for 1 hour, at which time the condition returns.

Ronin’s Resolve, Greater (Ex)

Prerequisite(s): Ronin’s resolve, barbarian level 10th.

While raging, a barbarian with this rage power adds the exhausted, frightened, nauseated, and staggered conditions those which she can remove with the ronin’s resolve rage power. When she removes the fatigued or exhausted conditions, the barbarian can use her swift action on the same turn to make a single attack at her highest attack bonus against one creature she can reach.

Ronin’s Challenge (Ex)

As a swift action while raging, a barbarian with this rage power can issue a challenge to one target within sight. If the target is able to reach and attack the barbarian on its next turn without putting itself directly in harm’s way, it must either do so or become demoralized as if the barbarian successfully intimidated it and beat the DC by 1d10 for every two ronin’s instinct rage powers the barbarian possesses.
