Shadowclan S-Class Slayer Guild

The Shadowclan enlists s-class slayers into their ranks as snipers who can take down an enemy from a distance before actual combat even commences. When forced into closer range, these slayers still have the means of protecting themselves so they can get back and fire again.

Guild Training (Ex)

At 1st level, the slayer gains her choice of Weapon Focus as a bonus feat or proficiency with all firearms. Once this choice is made, it cannot be changed.

Accuracy (Ex)

At 2nd level, the slayer halves all range increment penalties when making ranged attacks with a bow, crossbow, or firearm.

Sniper’s Reaction (Ex) [Guild Talent]

At 3rd level, the slayer chooses powerful sneak or snap shot. She gains the other option at 11th level, or she can select it as a slayer talent.

  • Snap Shot: The slayer may treat her initiative roll as a 20 for a surprise round, regardless of her initiative, but she may only take an attack action with a ranged weapon. Her normal initiative roll is used in subsequent rounds. If two or more creatures possess this ability, their initiative determines the order in which they act, but they all go before any other creature. If the slayer is prevented from acting in the surprise round, this talent has no effect.

Favored Weapon (Ex) [Guild Talent]

At 5th level, the slayer gains Weapon Focus (firearms) if she chose firearms as her guild training option. Otherwise, she gains Weapon Specialization with the weapon she chose for Weapon Focus. She also qualifies to select the Weapon Specialization feat for firearms, even if she doesn’t meet its other prerequisites.

Sniper’s Range (Ex)

At 6th level, slayer adds 10 feet to the range increment of her favored weapon. This doesn’t increase the range of the scatter weapon quality. At 9th, 12th, 15th, and 18th level, the slayer adds another 10 feet to the range increment of her favored weapon.

When the slayer makes an attack against a target who is within her favored weapon’s first range increment and completely unaware of her presence, that attack ignores the 30-foot range limit on ranged sneak attacks, and if it is a sneak attack, she adds her slayer level as a bonus on her sneak attack damage roll. After this first attack, the target is aware of the slayer’s presence.

Still Shot (Ex) [Guild Talent]

At 7th level, when she has cover provided by one or more trees, the slayer reduces the penalty on Stealth checks to remain hidden while sniping by half her slayer level.

Sniper’s Eye (Ex) [Guild Talent]

At 9th level, the slayer chooses camouflage or sniper’s eye. She gains the other option at 15th level, or she can select it as a slayer talent.

  • Camouflage: Once per day, the slayer can craft simple but effective camouflage from the surrounding foliage. The slayer needs 1 minute to prepare the camouflage, but once she does, it is good for the rest of the day or until the slayer fails a saving throw against an area effect spell that deals acid, cold, or fire damage, whichever comes first. The slayer gains a +4 bonus on Stealth checks made with camouflage.
  • Sniper’s Eye: The slayer can apply her sneak attack damage on ranged attacks targeting foes within 30 feet that benefit from concealment. Foes with total concealment are still immune.

Deadly Sneak (Ex) [Guild Advanced Talent]

At 13th level, whenever the slayer uses powerful sneak, she treats all 1s and 2s on the sneak attack damage dice as 3s.

Stealthy Sniper (Ex) [Guild Advanced Talent]

At 15th level, when the slayer uses the Stealth skill to snipe, she only suffers a –10 penalty on the Stealth check, instead of –20.

Master of Disguise (Ex) [Guild Advanced Talent]

At 17th level, once per day, the slayer gains a +10 bonus on a single Disguise check.

Marksman’s Shot (Ex) [Guild Advanced Talent]

At 19th level, the slayer can make a single ranged attack as an attack action at her highest attack bonus with her favored weapon. The target of the attack must be the slayer’s studied target. On a successful hit, the slayer doubles the number of sneak attack dice applied to the attack; if the attack was not a sneak attack, this benefit does not apply.
