Hero Talents

Hero Talents | Advanced Hero Talents

As a generational hero gains experience, he learns a number of talents that aid him in completing tasks and defeating foes. Starting at 3rd level, the hero gains one hero talent. He gains an additional hero talent for every 2 levels of generational hero attained after 3rd level.

Talents marked with an asterisk add effects to the hero’s bombs. Only one of these talents can be applied to an individual bomb, and the decision must be made before the attack roll is made.

At 11th level, and every two levels thereafter, a generational hero can choose an advanced talent in place of a hero talent.

Hero Talents
Samurai Sheepdog
Talent Prerequisites Benefits Source
Blessed Water (Su) A generational hero with this talent is able to spend 1 point from his discovery pool to cast bless water a number of times per day equal to his Charisma modifier with a caster level equal to his generational hero level. Thrown holy water the hero creates with this ability is more potent than usual, dealing 1d6 points of damage per three generational hero levels to undead and evil outsiders struck by a direct hit. Creatures vulnerable to holy water and hit by the splash still only take 1 point of damage regardless of the hero’s level. Holy water a generational hero creates deals increased damage only when he throws it (not when he douses a creature with it). If given to another creature, it functions as normal holy water. BoMT v2
Bomb Discovery (Su)* Bombs class feature A generational hero with this talent can choose one alchemist’s discovery that augments the bomb class feature. The hero treats his generational hero level as his effective alchemist level when qualifying for a discovery. This talent can be chosen more than once. BoMT v2
Book of Ancients (Ex) A generational hero with this talent adds Linguistics and Spellcraft to his list of class skills. He gains a bonus equal to his generational hero level to Spellcraft checks and to Linguistics checks made to translate text. BoMT v2
Boomerang (Su) A generational hero with this talent is able to conjure a magical boomerang with a swift action that he can throw at enemies, temporarily dazing them. As a standard action, the hero throws his boomerang up to 60 feet at an enemy. If he succeeds with a ranged touch attack, the enemy takes bludgeoning damage equal to the hero’s Charisma modifier and is dazed for 1 round. A successful Reflex save negates the daze. BoMT v2
Bracelet of Power (Su) A generational hero with this talent doubles his lifting and carrying capacity. He also ignores up to 5 points of an object’s hardness when attempting to damage it. BoMT v2
Catterpillar’s Device 3rd level

A generational hero with this talent can spend 1 point 2 per spell levels (rounded up) from her discovery pool and summon a special device as a swift action that allows her to create clouds of different substances. She can do this up to 3 times each day. When used, the device creates one of the following spell effects, then disappears. The hero cannot use the device to cast a spell with a level higher than half her generational level (rounded up).

Cloudkill, eurphoric cloud, fog cloud, incendiary cloud, and stinking cloud.

BoMT v3
Champion’s Tunic (Ex) A generational hero with this talent has customized his light armor so that it grants an additional +2 armor bonus, but also reduces its maximum Dexterity bonus by 1. Any other creature that dons the armor treats it as an ironwood breastplate. The hero can select this hero talent again as an advanced talent to increase both by +2 and 1, respectively. The armor is then treated as ironwood full plate by any other than the hero. BoMT v2
Cheshin Companion (Ex) 5th level, a familiar A generational hero with this talent gains Improved Familiar as a bonus feat, and her familiar becomes a cheshin. A cheshin grants its master the benefits of a cat. Up to 3 times per day, it can also cast dimension door (self only), hideous laugher, or vanish. The cheshin speaks Sylvan and one other language its master knows. BoMT v3

The hook can also extend out to 30 feet, puncture a solid surface (such as a wall or ceiling) and pull the hero to that location as a standard action. The hero will not fall while he continues to hold the grappling hook in at least 1 hand. BoMT v2

The weapon loses any other properties while altered in this way.

BoMT v3
