Dragonfire Speaker

Dragonfire speakers are dragon speakers transformed by a ritual combination of draconic magic and literal fire that scars their skin, allowing the speaker to take on an ever-hardening mien to match its outward appearance. They are at once members of their dragon flight and invokers of ancient power.

Hit Dice and Base Attack

A dragonfire speaker’s hit die is a d10, and his base attack bonus is equal to his dragon speaker level.

This alters the dragon speaker’s hit dice and base attack bonus and replaces dragon speaker path.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency

Dragonfire speakers are proficient with all simple and martial weapons. They are also proficient with light armor, but not with shields.

This alters the dragon speaker’s weapon and armor proficiencies.

Natural Armor (Su)

At 1st level, when wearing light or no armor, a dragonfire speaker gains a +1 natural armor bonus. This bonus increases by +1 at 5th level, and every 5 levels thereafter, to a maximum of +5 natural armor at 20th level.

This ability alters the dragon speaker’s natural armor progression and replaces draconic aura.

Invocations

At 1st level, a dragonfire speaker learns and can cast one 1st-level invocation as an invoker of his dragon speaker level. The dragonfire speaker is treated as having a single 1st-level spell slot when using this invocation.

At 4th level, and every even dragon speaker level thereafter, a dragonfire speaker gains an additional invocation and effective spell slot of the next highest spell level that would be available to an invoker of his dragon speaker level. For example, at 6th level, he gains a 3rd-level spell slot and the invocation he places there can be 1st, 2nd, or 3rd-level.

This ability replaces commune with dragon spirit, shared adaptation, and draconic wings.
