Daemonic

Alignment: Neutral Evil

Devotion: A warlock with a daemonic patron may gain a +1/4 bonus on all critical hit confirmation rolls (maximum bonus of +5). This bonus doesn’t stack with those gained through Critical Focus and similar effects.

Pact: Daemons are born of rage, hatred, and hunger. To satiate the Daemonic patron, they require not only that the warlock inflict pain but that the warlock experience pain. Whenever a warlock casts a warlock spell, they take damage equal to the level of spell being cast. This applies only to spells cast using warlock spell slots or those cast with life tap. This damage cannot be prevented or reduced.

The Daemons also share their hunger with the warlock. The warlock is proficient with martial weapons. In addition, whenever a warlock confirms a critical hit with a weapon or natural attack or reduces an enemy to 0 or fewer hit points with a weapon or natural attack while in combat she regains 1d6 hit points for every warlock two levels she possesses (minimum 1d6). Destroying an unattended object, reducing a helpless or unaware creature to 0 or fewer hit points, or reducing a creature that has fewer Hit Dice than half the warlock’s character level to 0 or fewer hit points doesn’t restore any hit points.

Manifestations

Warlocks with a daemonic patron gain the following manifestations at the listed levels.

Daemonic Fury (Ex): At 1st level, the warlock may embrace the daemonic fury to bolster their attacks. To do so they must sacrifice one hit point per warlock level at the beginning of their turn. If they do, until the start of their next turn, the warlock’s base attack bonus from her warlock class levels is equal to her warlock level and attack rolls that would be modified by Strength or Dexterity are modified by Constitution instead.

Furious Frenzy (Ex): At 4th level, while in a daemonic fury, the warlock gains DR 1/-. This damage reduction increases by one at 8th level and every 4 levels thereafter (to a maximum of DR 5/- at 20th level). Also, while in a daemonic fury, the warlock gains a bonus to melee weapon and natural attack damage equal to her warlock level. Any creature that is immune to sneak attacks is immune to the additional damage granted. This additional damage is precision damage, and isn’t multiplied on a critical hit.

Spell Combat (Ex): At 8th level, while in a daemonic fury, the warlock gains the magusspell combat class feature. She uses the warlock spell list instead of the magus spell list when determining which spells can be cast using spell combat.

Bloody Gash (Su): At 12th level, the warlock may subject their victims to grievous wounds. Before you make a melee attack roll, you can choose to activate this ability as a swift action. If the attack hits, that creature is subject to a bloody gash. Your target can make a Fortitude save, to negate the effect. If your attack misses, the use of this ability is still expended with no effect. You may use this ability a number of times per day equal to your Constitution modifier. At 16th, and 20th level the damage this poison deals increases by 1d6.

Bloody Gash

poison, injury; save Fortitude DC 10 + half the warlock’s level + the warlock’s Constitution modifier; frequency 1/round for 3 rounds; effect 2d6 damage. The warlock regains a number of hit points equal to the damage dealt this way; cure 1 save.

Tasty Morsel (Su): At 16th level, whenever the warlock reduces an enemy to 0 or fewer hit points with a weapon or natural attack while in combat, she may attempt to capture their soul for later consumption. The enemy is allowed a Fortitude save to avoid having their soul captured. The DC of this save is equal to 10 + half the warlock’s level + the warlock’s Constitution modifier. A warlock may store a number of souls equal to their Constitution modifier. Souls can be stored this way for 24 or until consumed. Once captured, the warlock may devour a soul as a swift action to cure 1d6 points of damage for every 2 warlock levels she possesses. Alternatively, as a swift action, the warlock may consume a soul instead of sacrificing hit points to life tap.

Fiendish Blessings

Warlocks with a daemonic patron may select from among the following fiendish blessings. The DC to save against these blessings is equal to 10 + 1/2 the warlock’s level + the warlock’s Constitution modifier. Whenever a warlock would gain a feat, they may instead select a fiendish blessing they qualify for.

Daemonic Endurance (Ex): The warlock’s Constitution score permanently increases by 2 points. A warlock must be at least 20th level before selecting this blessing.

Hemorrhaging: The DC to resist the warlock’s bloody gash increases by 2. The duration of bloody gash increases to 5 rounds and the cure changes to 2 consecutive saves. A warlock must be at least 14th level before selecting this blessing.

Insatiable Hunger (Ex): The healing die of the warlock’s pact and tasty morsel ability is increased to d8s.

Raging Fury (Ex): While in a daemonic fury, the warlock gains the benefit of one barbarian rage power. If this rage power is a blood rage power it must be from the abyssal or infernal line. The warlock must still meet the rage power’s prerequisites to select a rage power. A warlock’s barbarian level is equal to her levels in warlock for the purposes of determining prerequisites and benefits of a rage power. A warlock may use their Constitution modifier instead of their Strength modifier when determining the benefits of the rage power. Rage powers that can be used once per rage may be used by the warlock once per day instead. If a rage power would expend rounds of rage, instead, the warlock must pay a number of hit points equal to their warlock level for each round of rage expended. A warlock may take this blessing multiple times.

Second Skin (Ex): The warlock gains medium armor proficiency as a bonus feat. She may cast spells while wearing medium armor without incurring the normal spell failure chance. This blessing my be selected twice. The second time a warlock takes this blessing, she gains heavy armor proficiency as a bonus feat and may cast spells while wearing heavy armor without incurring the normal spell failure chance. A warlock must be at least 6th level before selecting this blessing and must be at least 14th level before selecting this blessing a second time.

Snuff Out (Sp): Whenever the warlock reduces an enemy to 0 or fewer hit points with a weapon or natural attack while in combat, she may snuff out the enemy with a swift action. This functions as the spell death knell using the warlock’s caster level. A warlock can attempt to snuff out an enemy a number of times per day equal to the warlock’s Constitution modifier. A warlock must be at least 6th level before selecting this blessing.

Thirsting Blade (Ex): The warlock gains improved critical as a bonus feat even if she does not have the normal prerequisites. This blessing may be selected multiple times. A warlock must be at least 10th level before selecting this blessing.

Tool Of Destruction (Su): As a swift action, the warlock may enhance a weapon they wield or natural weapon they possess. This power grants the weapon or natural weapon a +1 enhancement bonus. For every 4 levels beyond 4th, this bonus increases by 1 (to a maximum of +5 at 20th level). The warlock may use this ability a number of rounds per day equal to her warlock level, but these rounds need not be consecutive. These bonuses stack with any existing bonuses the weapon might have, to a maximum of +5. The warlock can enhance a weapon with any of the following weapon special abilities: keen, mighty cleaving, spell storing, unholy, vampiric, greater vampiric, vicious, and vorpal. Adding any of these special abilities replaces an amount of bonus equal to the special ability’s base cost. Duplicate abilities do not stack. The weapon must have at least a +1 enhancement bonus before any other special abilities can be added. These bonuses do not apply if another creature is wielding the weapon, but they continue to be in effect if the weapon otherwise leaves the warlock’s possession (such as if the weapon is thrown). This ability can be ended as a free action at the start of the warlock’s turn (that round does not count against the total duration, unless the ability is resumed during the same round). If the warlock uses this ability on a double weapon, the effects apply to only one end of the weapon. A warlock must be at least 4th level before selecting this blessing.

Unstoppable Fury (Ex): The warlock a bonus feat form the following list: Endurance, Great Fortitude, Improved Great Fortitude, Improved Iron Will, Improved Lightning Reflexes, Iron Will, Lightning Reflexes, Toughness, Unbreakable. If the warlock takes Unbreakable, they may use their warlock levels in place of Fighter levels for the purposes of prerequisites and benefits. The warlock must meet the selected feat’s prerequisites. This blessing may be selected multiple times.

Wasteland Warrior: The warlock gains a bonus combat feat. For the purposes of this feat, the warlock can select feats that have a minimum number of fighter levels as a prerequisite, treating her warlock level – 3 as her fighter level. This blessing may be selected multiple times.

Incarnation

Once per day as a standard action, the warlock may become a daemonic incarnation for a number of minutes equal to the warlock’s Constitution modifier. Their type changes to outsider (daemon, evil, extraplanar). Upon transforming, the warlock cures all damage and ability damage they have taken and may automatically dispel any number of spells effecting them. The warlock grows one size category larger, gains a +6 profane bonus to all physical ability scores, and gains fast healing 5. Each round not spent in combat reduces the duration of the daemonic incarnation by an additional round. The warlock may consume two souls gained through their tasty morsel ability to extend the duration of their incarnation by 1 minute.
