Mentorship Ability

Apprentices who study a mentor’s monk class levels gains the unchained monk‘s unarmed strike class feature. When determining the damage of the apprentice’s unarmed strikes, the apprentice’s effective monk level is equal to half his apprentice level (minimum 1). The apprentice also gains the unchained monk‘s flurry of blows class feature. All of the apprentice’s attack rolls take a -2 penalty when using flurry of blows. An apprentice does not gain the additional attack granted by flurry of blows at 11th level. This ability is the same whether the apprentice’s mentor was a monk or unchained monk.

Advanced Mentorship Ability

Apprentices who study a mentor’s monk class levels and chooses monk for their advanced mentorship ability for the day gains the unchained monk‘s stunning fist class feature. When determining the effects of the apprentice’s stunning fist, the apprentice’s effective monk level is equal to his apprentice level minus 3. When determining the number of times per day an apprentice can attempt a stunning attack, he may make an additional attempt for every two apprentice levels he possesses. Actual monk levels and levels in classes other than monk and apprentice are added to the number of stunning attack attempts as normal. This ability is the same whether the apprentice’s mentor was a monk or unchained monk.

Cooperation Power

Key ability: Wisdom

Apprentices who study a mentor’s monk class levels and chooses monk for their cooperation power may spend a cooperation point as a swift action, to make one additional attack at his highest attack bonus when making a flurry of blows attack, or increase his speed by 20 feet for 1 round, or give himself a +4 dodge bonus to AC for 1 round. Choosing this cooperation power counts as gaining the ki pool class feature for the purposes of the apprentice’s approximate expertise class feature but you must have the monk cooperation power to benefit from a feat whose prerequisites were met in this manner.
