Mentorship Ability

Apprentices who study a mentor’s alchemist class levels learns to make alchemist extracts for the day. The apprentice may expend any number of spell slots during the hour of training with an alchemist mentor to create extracts of the same levels as the expended spell slots. These extracts do not need to be the same extracts his mentor creates but they must be extracts in his mentor’s formulae book. Extracts created this way use the apprentice’s Charisma regardless of what ability their mentor uses to modify their extracts. This ability does not allow an apprentice to create extracts of spell they cannot learn due to their Charisma score or level. These extracts are treated in all ways as extracts created by the apprentice and do not benefit his mentor if imbibed by his mentor. Your caster level is equal to your apprentice level, and your save DCs and concentration checks are Charisma-based. You’re considered to have the alchemist formulae list for purposes of spell trigger items.

In addition, the mentor’s extracts do not become inert in the apprentice’s possession and the apprentice may imbibe them just as their mentor would. This does not allow anyone other than the mentor or apprentice to imbibe an alchemist’s extract unless they would normally be able to do so (such as is allowed by the alchemist’s “infusion” discovery).

Advanced Mentorship Ability

Apprentices who study a mentor’s alchemist class levels and chooses alchemist for their advanced mentorship ability for the day gains the alchemist‘s discovery class feature. The apprentice gains one alchemist discovery for every three apprentice levels. The apprentice must select discoveries known by his mentor. When determining the effects of the apprentice’s discoveries, the apprentice’s effective alchemist level is equal to his apprentice level minus 3.

Cooperation Power

Apprentices who study a mentor’s alchemist class levels and chooses alchemist for their cooperation power may spend a cooperation point as a standard action to create and throw a single bomb as the alchemist class feature. When determining the damage of the apprentice’s bomb, the apprentice’s effective alchemist level is equal to half his apprentice level. If the apprentice has any alchemist discoveries that effect bombs, he may apply them to bombs created this way. Choosing this cooperation power counts as gaining the bomb class feature for the purposes of the apprentice’s approximate expertise class feature but you must have the alchemist cooperation power to benefit from a feat whose prerequisites were met in this manner.
