Certain tattoos, piercings, and other body modifications are known to transcend the cosmetic into the cosmic.

Stigmatophiles are legendary occultists who permanently mark their bodies for a multitude of personal reasons that relate to their own spiritual growth. Each tattoo or piercing they acquire grants them power and protection from external disturbances.

Weapon and Armor Proficiencies: A stigmatophile is proficient with all simple and martial weapons. He is not proficient with any type of armor or shield. This alters weapon and armor proficiencies.

Traveling Light: A stigmatophile does not gain the antiques or antique expert class features.

Protective Markings (Su)

When a stigmatophile bares his bodily markings by wearing no armor or shield, he gains mage armor, as per the spell. The bonus granted by this spell increases by +1 at levels 4, 8, 12, 16, and 20.

Personal Mementos (Su)

As a stigmatophile adventures and gains experience through life, he commemorates his victories or failures with tattoos or other permanent markings. These mementos serve to remind him of who he is and what he is capable of. Personal mementos cannot function if the stigmatophile is wearing armor or heavy amounts of clothing. Each time a stigmatophile gains a personal memento, he chooses one spell he knows and can cast and permanently inscribes this spell onto his flesh. He can cast this spell one time per day without using up a spell slot. A stigmatophile gains a personal memento at levels 2, 6, 10, 14, 18, and 20. If a personal memento is lost due to any form of damage, the personal memento is restored when the damage has been healed.

Inscribe Magical Tattoo (Su)

At 5th level, a stigmatophile gains Inscribe Magical Tattoo as a bonus feat, even if he does not meet the requirements. This replaces aura sight.

Favored Class Bonuses

All: Gain 1/6 of a new historical figure.

All: Gain +1/6 of a bonus elective.

All: Gain +1/6 of a bonus antique.

All: Select one of your historical figures. Add ½ of a new spell of a level you can cast, raided from that figure’s spell list, to your known spells list.

All: Increase your Use Magic Device bonus by +½.

All: Gain a +½ bonus on Spellcraft checks to identify the properties of magic items and a +½ bonus on Use Magic Device checks to emulate a race.

All: Gain +1/3 additional use of ley lines, nexus points, ambience, or fast cast.
