Creating a Tapestry-Warped Creature

Tapestry-warped is an acquired template that can be applied to any corporeal creature (referred hereafter as the base creature). A tapestry-warped creature retains the base creature’s statistics and abilities except as noted here.

CR: Up to 4 HD, as base creature; 5 HD to 10 HD, as base creature +1; 11 or more HD, as base creature +2.

Type: The creature’s type changes to outsider (extraplanar). Do not recalculate HD, BAB, or saves.

Defensive Abilities: The tapestry-warped creature gains damage reduction and energy resistance as noted on the table below.

SR: A tapestry-warped creature gains a spell resistance equal to its new CR +10.

Special Attacks: A tapestry-warped creature retains the special attacks of the base creature and also gains the following:

True Strike (Su)

Once per day, a tapestry-warped creature can gain a +20 insight bonus on a single attack roll as a swift action. Additionally, the tapestry-warped creature suffers no miss chance with this augmented attack due to concealment.

Abilities Same as the base creature, but Intelligence is set to 3 if at 2 or below.

Special Qualities A tapestry-warped creature retains the special qualities of the base creature and also gains the following abilities. If the tapestry-warped creature already has similar abilities, use the higher of the two.

No Breath (Ex)

The tapestry-warped creature gains the no breath universal monster ability.

Alternate Form (Ex)

As a standard action, a tapestry-warped creature can shift their form into a grotesque mass of appendages and eyes (or other appropriately disgusting form as determined by the GM). Despite the changed form, the tapestry-warped creature retains their abilities and statistics.

However, all creatures that can see or sense the change take are shaken for 1 minute and take a -1 penalty to attack rolls against the tapestry-warped creature while it maintains this chaotic form. A successful Will save negates the shaken condition.

The tapestry-warped creature may maintain this form for 1 round per Hit Die they possess. The save DC is Charisma-based.
