Cloying Pull (Su)

As an immediate action, the alapolo attempts to snag a creature moving out of the alapolo’s reach. The creature must succeed on a DC 29 Reflex save or its movement ends. The save DC is Constitution-based.

Enticing Invitation (Sp)

The alapolo whispers an invitation to a target within 30 feet of it, affecting it with the irresistible dance spell (Will save DC 25). If the save is successful and after the target spends one round dancing, it is immune to this alapolo’s Enticing Invitation for 24 hours. At the end of each round the target is subjected to this effect, it takes 1d4 Con damage. If the alapolo uses Weighty Shadow against the target, the effect ends.

One with Shadows (Su)

The alapolo is immune spells and effects with the darkness or light descriptor, as well as to spells from the shadow subschool.

Shifting Shadows (Su)

The alapolo’s movement doesn’t provoke attacks of opportunity.

Weighty Shadow (Su)

As a standard action, the alapolo petulantly stomps on an adjacent shadow. The target’s shadow becomes incredibly heavy to drag around, reducing all the target’s speeds by 20 feet (to a minimum of 5 feet) for 1 minute.

Short-lived, strange creatures called alapolos cling to the shadows in eerie moonlight, inviting others to dance. Although these “shadow dancers” aren’t actively malevolent, they become petulant when others won’t dance with them. Even fey avoid alapolos, for their dancing is both captivating and exhausting. When a potential dance partner resists their swaying invitations to dance, an alapolo becomes sulky and usually stomps upon the refuser’s shadow, giving it a supernatural weight. Avoiding both the dance and the stomp requires incredible diplomacy.
