SPECIAL ABILITIES

Breath Weapon (Su)

A faerie dragon’s breath weapon is a 5-foot cone of pink gas. Creatures caught in the puff must succeed on a Fortitude save or experience extreme euphoria for 1d6 rounds. Affected creatures are staggered, sickened, and immune to fear effects for the duration of the euphoria.

ECOLOGY

Environment temperate and warm forest
Organization solitary or clan (2–8)
Treasure standard

Faerie dragons are chaotic members of the dragon family and are believed to be distant cousins of the pseudodragon. Faerie dragons resemble tiny 1–2 foot long dragons. Female faerie dragons have a golden sheen to their coloring while males have a silver sheen.

Faerie dragons love to play pranks on passersby and employ their spells to this end. Some faerie dragons spend months on end preparing for the day they can unleash their single grand practical joke or prank. Faerie dragons avoid combat and only attack if cornered or if their lair or young are in immediate danger. A faerie dragon attacks with its breath weapon, spells, and bite.

Faerie Dragons as Familiars

Although difficult to control, a faerie dragon can make for a powerful familiar. Spellcasters wishing to take a faerie dragon as a familiar must take the Improved Familiar feat and have an alignment within one step of chaotic good. The character must have an arcane spellcaster level of at least 7th before taking a faerie dragon as a familiar.

Variant: Faerie Dragon, Glittering (CR 2)

[Source]

A glittering faerie dragon is not only brightly colored but it twinkles and shimmers in the light.

Breath Weapon (Faerie Dust) 5-ft. cone, faerie dust or pixie dust (see faerie dust in the product, or pixie dust in the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game: Bestiary), DC 12 negates. Creatures affected by this breath weapon are subject to the effects of any one form of faerie dust or pixie dust it chooses. It can change the type of dust it breathes as a swift action. A glittering faerie dragon can use this breath weapon once every 1d4 rounds. The save DC is Constitution-based.

This ability replaces the faerie dragon’s standard breath weapon.

Faerie Dust Bite (Su)

When a glittering faerie dragon makes a bite attack it can decide to change the bite’s properties by sprinkling it with magical faerie dust or magical pixie dust (it can choose any one form of dust). Doing so is a free action. A glittering faerie dragon can generate a number of uses of dust equal to its Charisma score each day (16 uses per day for most glittering faerie dragons). Each successful bite attack takes up one use of dust. As long as this bite attack is altered in this way, a glittering faerie dragon can choose whether or not it inflicts damage when it hits.

This ability replaces the faerie dragon’s spellcasting ability.
