Third Party Shaman Spells

An “F” or “M” appearing in the Comp. column denotes a focus or material component not normally included in a spell component pouch.

Order of Presentation: The spells (or formulae) are listed in alphabetical order by name, except when a spell’s name begins with “lesser,” “greater,” or “mass,” in which case it is alphabetized under the second word of the spell name.

Hit Dice: The term “Hit Dice” is used synonymously with “character levels” for effects that affect a specific number of Hit Dice of creatures.

Caster Level: A spell’s power often depends on caster level, which is defined as the caster’s class level for the purpose of casting a particular spell. The word “level” in the short spell descriptions that follow always refers to caster level.

Creatures and Characters: “Creature” and “character” are used synonymously in the short descriptions.

Stabilize   Cause a dying creature to stabilize. PRG:CRB

Charm Animal   Makes one animal your friend. PRG:CRB
Charm Person   Makes one person your friend. PRG:CRB
Cheetah’s Sprint   A wild surge of energy courses through your body and propels you into a sprint. PPC:HotW
Chill Touch   One touch/level deals 1d6 damage and possibly 1 Str damage. PRG:CRB
Comprehend Languages   You understand all spoken and written languages. PRG:CRB
Cure Light Wounds   Cures 1d8 damage + 1/level (max +5). PRG:CRB
Dancing Darkness   You create either up to four spheres of darkness that each reduce the illumination level by one step within a 20-foot-radius, or one dimly lit, vaguely humanoid shape. Each sphere of dancing darkness must stay within a 10-foot-radius area of one another but can otherwise move as you desire (no concentration required): forward or back, up or down, straight or turning corners, or the like. Dancing Lantern   Animates a lantern that follows you. PRG:APG
Darting Duplicate   You create an illusory duplicate of yourself that opponents might waste an attack of opportunity on. PPC:MTT
Detect Animals or Plants   Detects kinds of animals or plants. PRG:CRB
Detect Chaos/Evil/Good/Law   Reveals creatures, spells, or objects of selected alignment. PRG:CRB
Detect the Faithful   Find others of the same faith. PRG:UI

Dream Feast   Dream of a rich feast and when you awake, you are sated as if you ate and drank a nutritious meal. PCS:ISG
Endothermic Touch DF/M This spell slows the metabolism and other bodily functions of a creature for a short amount of time. PRG:MC
Endure Elements   Exist comfortably in hot or cold regions. PRG:CRB
Entangle   Plants entangle everyone in 40-ft. radius. PRG:CRB
Frostbite   Target takes cold damage and is fatigued. PRG:UM
Gentle Breeze   Light wind protects one target from clouds, gases, heat, and vapors. PRG:ACG
Goodberry   2d4 berries each cure 1 hp (max 8 hp/24 hours). PRG:CRB
Grasping Corpse M Cause a corpse to grab or trip a foe. PRG:HA
Hairline Fractures   Reduce the hardness of a stone object or lower the AC of an earth-type creature. PCS:ISG
Haze of Dreams   Distract a target creature with dreams and visions, slowing their speed by half. PCS:ISG
Heightened Awareness   Your recall and ability to process information improve. PRG:ACG
Hex Vulnerability   Reuse a hex on a specific target. PRG:ACG
Hex Ward   Target gains +4 on saves against witch hexes. PRG:UM
Hidden Spring Discover a temporary spring of fresh, flowing water. PRG:UW
Hide from Animals   Animals can’t perceive one subject/level. PRG:CRB
Hydraulic Push   Wave of water bull rushes an enemy. PRG:APG
Inflict Light Wounds   Touch deals 1d8 damage +1/level (max +5). PRG:CRB
Itching Curse   Curse target with a distracting, unbearable itch. PPC:MaTT
Magic Stone   Three stones gain +1 on attack, deal 1d6 +1 damage. PRG:CRB
Linked Legacy   This spell helps build community and ensure a shared vision for the future. PPC:AA
Magic Weapon   Weapon gains +1 bonus. PRG:CRB
Monkey Fish   Gain a climb speed and a swim speed of 10 ft. for a time. PRG:ACG
Nature’s Paths   The target instinctively knows the shortest, easiest, and fastest way through the wilderness. PPC:HotW
Obscure Poison   Make it harder to detect a poison or a venomous creature. PRG:UI
Obscuring Mist   Fog surrounds you. PRG:CRB
Pass without Trace   One subject/level leaves no tracks. PRG:CRB
Poisoned Egg   You transform the contents of a normal egg into a single dose of small centipede poison (injury; save DC 11; frequency 1/round for 4 rounds; effect 1 Dex; cure 1 save). PCS:ISG
Produce Flame   1d6 damage + 1/level, touch or thrown. PRG:CRB
Protection from Chaos/Evil/Good/Law   +2 to AC and saves, plus additional protection against selected alignment. PRG:CRB
Read Weather   Precisely forecast natural weather phenomenon that will occur in your area over the next 48 hours. PC:FoB
Remove Fear   Suppresses fear or gives +4 on saves against fear for one subject + one per four levels. PRG:CRB
Rite of Bodily Purity M You energize your body’s immune system, improving your ability to resist toxins and ailments. PPC:DA
Rite of Centered Mind M You heighten your awareness of your own thoughts, allowing you to more easily resist outside influences. PPC:DA
Sense Spirit Magic   Gain bonuses on identifying and resisting spells associated with your spirits. PRG:ACG
Shadow Trap   You pin the target’s shadow to its current location, causing the target to become entangled and preventing it from moving farther than 5 feet from its original position, as if its shadow were anchored to the terrain. PPC:BoS
Sleep   Puts 4 HD of creatures into magical slumber. PRG:CRB
Spiked Armor   Suit of armor becomes covered in iron spikes. PCS:ISWG
Spirit Call   For the duration of the spell, all spells from your spirit magic list that are cast within the affected area have their caster level increased by 1, and all spellcasters casting such spells receive a +4 insight bonus on their concentration checks for those spells only. PPC:ACO
Stone Shield   A 1-inch-thick slab of stone springs up from the ground, interposing itself between you and an opponent of your choice. PRG:ARG
Summon Nature’s Ally I   Summons creature to fight. PRG:CRB
Tears to Wine   This spell turns nonmagic liquids into mead or wine of average quality. PPC:AA
Thorn Javelin   Wield a javelin that sickens opponents when it strikes. PRG:ACG
Touch of Blindness   A touch from your hand, which is engulfed in darkness, disrupts a creature’s vision by coating its eyes in supernatural darkness. PPC:BoS
Twisted Futures   A creature affected by this spell is unable to benefit from effects that grant the ability to roll multiple times and take the higher result. PCS:GHH
Unbreakable Heart   Target gains a +4 bonus on saves against mind-affecting effects that rely on negative emotions. PCS:ISWG
Underbrush Decoy   Create a rustling distraction to hide. PRG:UI
Wave Shield   Water blunts one incoming attack or fire effect. PRG:ACG

Barkskin   Grants +2 (or higher) enhancement to natural armor. PRG:CRB

Burdened Thoughts   Target creature gains heavy encumbrance and is cannot fly. PCS:GHH
Burning Gaze   Inflict 1d6 fire damage to creature by looking at it. PRG:APG
Callback Teleport a familiar or spirit animal to your side when it is injured. PRG:UW
Calm Emotions   Calms creatures, negating emotion effects. PRG:CRB
Commune with Birds   You can ask birds a question. PRG:ARG
Contact Entity I M Ask eldritch entities to find and converse with you. PRG:HA
Cure Moderate Wounds   Cures 2d8 damage + 1/level (max +10). PRG:CRB

Darkness   20-ft. radius of supernatural shadow. PRG:CRB

Dream Shield   You ward the target’s mind against intrusion and influence while she is unconscious. PPC:OO

Fear the Sun   Targets that fail the saving throw gain light blindness. If you cast this spell in the presence of bright light, any target that fails its save is blinded immediately, and dazzled starting at the beginning of its first turn. PPC:BoS
Flame Blade   Touch attack deals 1d8 + 1/two levels damage. PRG:CRB
Flickering Lights   Create an area of inconsistent lighting. PRG:HA

Garrulous Grin   This spell plants a seed of supernatural fear deep in a subject’s mind, causing self-doubt, stuttering, and evasiveness. PPC:SpyHB
Gentle Repose   Preserves one corpse. PRG:CRB
Ghostbane Dirge   Incorporeal creature takes half damage from nonmagical weapons. PRG:APG
Glide   You take no falling damage, move 60 ft./round while falling. PRG:APG
Greensight Grant a target the ability to see through plant matter as if it were transparent. PRG:UW
Guiding Star   Know approximate distance from where you cast this spell. PRG:APG
Hold Person   Paralyzes one humanoid for 1 round/level. PRG:CRB
Imbue with Elemental Might   As imbue with spell ability except it transfers the use of elemental assault ability. PRG:ARG
Inflict Moderate Wounds   Touch attack, 2d8 damage + 1/level (max +10). PRG:CRB
Insect Scouts   This spell summons one or more vermin to investigate a single location or building you can see. Your scouts must spend 1d6 hours investigating the target location, but need no oversight. PPC:SpyHB
Languid Venom   Delay a poison’s onset and hide its presence. PRG:UI
Levitate   Subject moves up and down at your direction. PRG:CRB
Life Pact   Affected creatures automatically donate hp to stabilize fallen ally. PRG:ACG
Mindshock   You charge yourself with violent psychic energy so attacks you make with weapons, natural weapons, and unarmed strikes cause the target to recall pain suffered in the past. PPC:OO
Merge with Familiar Merge the body of your familiar or spirit animal into your own. PRG:UW
Owl’s Wisdom   Subject gains +4 to Wis for 1 min./level. PRG:CRB
Plant Voice   You grant one plant creature the ability to speak, hear, and understand any of the languages you know. PPC:C&C
Quick Change   Use change shape as a swift action and surprise foes. PRG:HA
Raven’s Flight   You can cast this spell only if it is the first action you take on your turn. In a burst of shadowy feathers, you turn into a Tiny blurred shape reminiscent of a black raven until the beginning of your next turn. PPC:HotW
Remove Paralysis   Frees creatures from paralysis or slow effect. PRG:CRB
Resist Energy   Ignores 10 (or more) points of damage/attack from specified energy type. PRG:CRB
Restoration, Lesser   Dispels magical ability penalty or repairs 1d4 ability damage. PRG:CRB
Scale Spikes DF/M When the target is affected by this spell, its scales grow jagged spikes. These spikes act like +1 armor spikes. The subject is automatically considered proficient with these scale spikes. PRG:MC
Scare   Frightens creatures of less than 6 HD. PRG:CRB
Secret Speech   This spell grants the target the ability to send secret messages embedded within normal speech. PCS:ISG
Sense Fear   Perceive nearby creatures that are experiencing fear. PRG:HA
Shared Sacrifice   You take only half damage from effects and attacks that deal hit point damage and the target of this spell takes the remainder. PCS:ISG
Shield Companion   As shield other, but affecting your companion creature. PRG:ACG
Shield of Shards   This defensive spell must be cast on a shield you are currently wielding, and fractures the shield into two shards. You lose the shield bonus to AC but you can direct the shards to attack adjacent opponents. PPC:AMH
Sickening Entanglement   As entangle, but plants have sickening sap. PRG:ACG
Spiritual Squire   An ally made of pure force appears in a single 5-foot square within range. On your turn, the squire can do one of the following: retrieve one stowed item from your possessions, carry an object weighing no more than 10 lbs./CL, hand you an object it is carrying, perform the aid another action on your behalf or for one of your allies, or help one creature of your choice don armor (which then takes half the normal time). Spiritual Weapon   Magic weapon attacks on its own. PRG:CRB
Splinter Spell Resistance   You create an aura around the target weapon that weakens a foe’s spell resistance with each successful attack. PPC:AA
Spore Burst   You cause a willing plant creature’s body to sprout small, puffy mushrooms that remain for 1 round per caster level or until the creature uses them. PPC:C&C
Summon Nature’s Ally II   Summons creature to fight. PRG:CRB
Summon Swarm   Summons swarm of bats, rats, or spiders. PRG:CRB
Touch of Bloodletting   This spell causes existing wounds on a target to bleed profusely. PCS:ISG
Tree Shape   You look exactly like a tree for 1 hour/level. PRG:CRB
Vine Strike Enhance one of your natural or unarmed attacks with thorny vine growth. PRG:UW
Visualization of the Body M You focus your mind on one aspect of your body, aligning the energies within your body to enhance that element. PPC:DA
Visualization of the Mind M You enhance a single aspect of your mind, nurturing and empowering it. PPC:DA
Warp Wood   Bends wood. PRG:CRB
Web Shelter   Create a comfortable shelter made of webbing. PRG:UM
Wild Instinct   This spell sharpens your senses, allowing you to perceive threats you would otherwise miss. PPC:HotW
Winter Grasp Create a slippery sheet of ice on the ground. PRG:UW

Find Fault   You instantly learn many of the target’s weaknesses. PPC:AA

Jealous Rage   You fill the target with a sense of entitled self-importance, making the subject unable to bear the indignity of another creature getting something that it doesn’t have. PPC:OO
Lover’s Vengeance M You inspire yourself or a lover to a vengeful rage against a chosen enemy. PCS:ISWG
Magic Circle against Chaos/Evil/Good/Law   As protection spells, but 10-ft. radius and 10 min./level. PRG:CRB
Magic Vestment   Armor or shield gains +1 enhancement bonus per four levels. PRG:CRB
Mantle of Calm   Neutralize the rage effects of those who have attacked you. PRG:ACG
Mindlocked Messenger   Target gains a message that can be given only to its intended recipient. PRG:ACG
Motes of Dusk And Dawn   When you cast this spell, you create up to four motes that shed light or darkness in a 20-foot-radius, increasing or decreasing the illumination level by up to two categories. You decide whether each individual mote sheds light or darkness when the spell is cast. PPC:BoS
Nauseating Trail   Creature leaves a trail of stinking cloud squares. PRG:ACG
Pierce Disguise   See through low-level magical disguises. PRG:ACG
Planar Inquiry   This spell calls a creature from another plane to your precise location, functioning like lesser planar ally except as noted. PPC:AA
Pocketful of Vipers   Ward a container with summoned vipers. PRG:UI
Polymorph Familiar   Give your familiar the shape of another animal. PRG:ACG
Protection from Energy   Absorb 12 points/level of damage from one kind of energy. PRG:CRB
Quell Energy   You reduce the target creature’s ability to tap into a single energy type (acid, cold, electricity, fire, or sonic) of your choice. This reduces damage of the selected type the creature deals with spells, spell-like abilities, and supernatural abilities by 10 points. PPC:OO
Remove Blindness/Deafness   Cures normal or magical blindness or deafness. PRG:CRB
Remove Curse   Frees object or person from curse. PRG:CRB
Revenant Armor   When the wearer of a suit of armor warded by revenant armor is brought below 0 hp or becomes unconscious in combat, the armor animates allowing the unconscious wearer to move about under the constructs control. PPC:AMH
Scale Spikes, Greater DF/M As scale spikes, except that the spikes growing out of the scales have an enhancement bonus on attack and damage rolls equal to +1 for every 4 caster levels (maximum +5). This bonus does not allow the spikes to bypass damage reduction aside from magic. PRG:MC
See Beyond M You attune your mind and your sight to the hidden world of spirits. PPC:DA
Shadowmind   You dim your targets’ perceptions of light and shadow, convincing them the space they occupy is dark. PPC:BoS
Shield of Darkness   You shield yourself with darkness. PPC:BoS
Signs of the Land Learn up to three details about the surrounding territory. PRG:UW
Sky Swim   Target gains ability to ‘swim’ through air; if already has a swim speed, can move through air at that speed otherwise must make Swim checks to move. PC:FoB
Sleet Storm   Hampers vision and movement. PRG:CRB
Soothing Mud Create restorative mud that heals hit point and ability damage. PRG:UW
Speak with Dead   Corpse answers one question/two levels. PRG:CRB

Spirit Bonds M You know the direction, relative distance to, and condition of target creatures or objects. PPC:DA
Spotlight   You create a mobile area of bright light centered on one target while simultaneously suppressing other light sources surrounding it. PPC:BoS
Stench of Prey   Predatory animals must successfully save or attack the target. PRG:ACG
Stinking Cloud   Nauseating vapors, 1 round/level. PRG:CRB
Stone Shape   Sculpts stone into any shape. PRG:CRB
Stricken Heart   Touch attack deals 2d6 damage and staggers target. PRG:ACG
Summon Nature’s Ally III   Summons creature to fight. PRG:CRB
Tail Current Create a current in water to enhance or impede swimming. PRG:UW
Tailwind Create a current of wind to enhance or impede flight. PRG:UW
Thorny Entanglement   As entangle, plus plants make ranged attacks. PRG:ACG
Transfer Regeneration   You bestow your regenerative abilities on the target. Your regeneration stops functioning for the duration of the spell, and the target gains your regeneration. PRG:MC
Trial of Fire and Acid   The target creature is covered in burning acid that deals 1d6 points of acid damage and 1d6 points of fire damage each round. PRG:MC
