An “F” or “M” appearing in the Comp. column denotes a focus or material component not normally included in a spell component pouch.

Order of Presentation: The spells (or formulae) are listed in alphabetical order by name, except when a spell’s name begins with “lesser,” “greater,” or “mass,” in which case it is alphabetized under the second word of the spell name.

Hit Dice: The term “Hit Dice” is used synonymously with “character levels” for effects that affect a specific number of Hit Dice of creatures.

Caster Level: A spell’s power often depends on caster level, which is defined as the caster’s class level for the purpose of casting a particular spell. The word “level” in the short spell descriptions that follow always refers to caster level.

Creatures and Characters: “Creature” and “character” are used synonymously in the short descriptions.

Beguiling Gift    Subject immediately accepts an offered item and uses it.  PRG:APG
Blend   Gain a bonus to Stealth and make checks without cover or concealment. Elf only. ARG
Blurred Movement    As blur, but only while you are moving.  PRG:ACG
Borrow Skill    Make a skill check using another’s ranks.  PRG:APG
Break   Gives an object the broken condition. PRG:APG
Bungle   Target takes a -20 penalty on its next attack roll or check. PRG:UM
Burst of Adrenaline    Gain a +8 bonus to Str, Dex, or Con for one roll, then be fatigued for 1 round. PRG:OA
Burst of Insight    Gain a +8 bonus to Int, Wis, or Cha for one roll, then be dazed for 1 round. PRG:OA
Calm Animals    Calms 2d4 + level HD of animals.  PRG:CRB
Cause Fear    One creature of 5 HD or less flees for 1d4 rounds.  PRG:CRB
Charge object    Infuse psychic energy and ownership history into an item. PRG:OA
Charm animal    Makes one animal your friend. PRG:CRB
Charm person    Makes one person your friend.  PRG:CRB
Color spray    Knocks unconscious, blinds, and/or stuns weak creatures. PRG:CRB
Command    One subject obeys selected command for 1 round. PRG:CRB
Compel hostility    Compels opponents to attack you instead of your allies. PRG:UC
Comprehend languages    You understand all spoken and written languages. PRG:CRB
Confusion (lesser)    One creature is confused for 1 round. PRG:CRB
Cultural Adaptation   Adapt to fit the local culture. PRG:UI
Dancing Darkness   You create either up to four spheres of darkness that each reduce the illumination level by one step within a 20-foot-radius, or one dimly lit, vaguely humanoid shape. Each sphere of dancing darkness must stay within a 10-foot-radius area of one another but can otherwise move as you desire (no concentration required): forward or back, up or down, straight or turning corners, or the like. Decompose corpse    Turn a corpse into a clean skeleton. PRG:UM
Decrepit disguise    Make an object seem worthless. PRG:OA
Deja vu    Make a creature repeat its actions. PRG:OA
Delusional pride    Target is penalized on attacks and checks but gains bonus against charms and compulsions. PRG:UM
Detect aberration    Reveals presence of aberrations. PRG:APG

Forbid action    Target obeys your command to not do something. PRG:UM
Forced quiet    Target cannot make loud noises. PRG:UM
Fumbletongue    Target cannot speak intelligently. PRG:UM
Glue seal    Makes one 5-ft. square or one object sticky. PRG:ACG
Heightened awareness    Your recall and ability to process information improve. PRG:ACG
Hermean Potential   You gift the target with the ability to perfect its actions via mental clarity. PPC:LoD
Hidden Diplomacy   Attempt a Intimidate check to make a target act friendly toward you but not remember why after the spell ends. PPC:SpyHB
Hold portal    Holds door shut. PRG:CRB
Hypnotism   Fascinates 2d4 HD of creatures. PRG:CRB
Identify   Gives +10 bonus to identify magic items. PRG:CRB
Ill omen    Target rolls twice for checks and attacks and uses worst roll. PRG:APG
Illusion of calm    You appear to be standing still, even when you take some actions. PRG:UC
Interrogation   Target answers questions or suffers pain. PRG:UM
Invigorate    Temporarily relieves fatigue or exhaustion. PRG:APG
Invisibility Alarm   As alarm, but reacting only to invisible creatures. PRG:ACG
Jump   Subject gets bonus on Acrobatics checks. PRG:CRB
Jury-rig    Removes the broken condition from the targeted object. PRG:UC
Ki arrow    Arrow deals damage as your unarmed strike. PRG:UM
Liberating command    Target makes an Escape Artist check as an immediate action and gains a bonus on it.  PRG:UC
Linked Legacy   This spell helps build community and ensure a shared vision for the future. PPC:AA
Lock gaze    Compels the target to look only at you for the duration of the spell. PRG:UC
Long arm    Your arms lengthen, giving you extra reach. PRG:ACG
Longshot   Grants a +10-foot bonus to the range increment for any ranged weapon fired. PRG:UC
Mage armor    Gives subject +4 armor bonus. PRG:CRB
Magic aura    Alters object’s magic aura. PRG:CRB
Magic missile    1d4+1 damage; +1 missile per two levels above 1st (max 5).  PRG:CRB
Mask dweomer    Hides presence of a spell from detect magic. PRG:APG
Memorize page F  Target perfectly memorizes one page of information. PRG:ACG
Mind thrust I    Mentally deal 1d6 points of damage per level. PRG:OA
Mindlink    Communicate a great deal of information in an instant. PRG:OA
Mirror strike    You may strike multiple opponents with a single attack. PRG:UC
Moment of greatness    Doubles a morale bonus. PRG:UC
Monkey fish    Gain a climb speed and a swim speed of 10 ft. for a time. PRG:ACG
Murderous command    Target is compelled to kill its ally. PRG:UM
Negative reaction    Targeted creature may not positively influence anyone.  PRG:UC
Peacebond   Locks a weapon in place on the target’s body. PRG:UC
Polypurpose panacea   Gain a relaxing or entertaining effect. PRG:UM
Psychic reading    Read surface thoughts to learn information about a subject. PRG:OA
Quintessence    Mask any flaws of or damage to a creature or object. PRG:OA
Recharge Innate Magic   Regain one use of all 0 and 1st-level spell-like abilities of a racial trait. PRG:ARG
Reduce person    Humanoid creature halves in size. PRG:CRB
Remove fear    Suppresses fear or gives +4 on saves against fear for one subject + one per four levels. PRG:CRB
Restore corpse    Skeletal corpse grows flesh. PRG:UM
See alignment    Pick an alignment; in your sight, creatures and items with that alignment emit a ghostly radiance. PRG:UC
Shadow Trap   You pin the target’s shadow to its current location, causing the target to become entangled and preventing it from moving farther than 5 feet from its original position, as if its shadow were anchored to the terrain. PPC:BoS
Shadow weapon    Create a quasi-real masterwork weapon. PRG:UM
Share Language   Subject understands chosen language. PRG:APG
Shield   Invisible disc gives +4 to AC, blocks magic missiles. PRG:CRB
Silent image    Creates minor illusion of your design. PRG:CRB
Sleep   Puts 4 HD of creatures into magical slumber. PRG:CRB
Sow thought    Plant a brief thought in the mind of another.  PRG:ARG
Stunning barrier    Magical field grants a +1 bonus to AC and on saves, and stuns one creature attacking you. PRG:ACG
Summon minor monster    Summon 1d3 Tiny animals. PRG:UM
Summon monster I    Summons extraplanar creature to fight for you. PRG:CRB
Sunder breaker    The next weapon that sunders an item belonging to the target takes damage. PRG:ACG
Sundering Shards   Sundered item explodes, dealing 1d6 damage to adjacent creatures. PRG:ACG
Telempathic projection    Alter the target’s attitude or give bonuses to those interacting with the target.  PRG:OA
Thought echo    Replace surface thoughts with a mental echo. PRG:OA 
Touch of Combustion    Cause the touched target to ignite in a violent burst of flame. PRG:ARG 
True Strike    +20 on your next attack roll.  PRG:CRB
Unerring Weapon   Grants a +2 bonus, +1 per four caster levels, on attack rolls to confirm a critical hit. PRG:UC

Blood Blaze   Aura that makes injured creatures spray burning blood. PRG:ARG
Blood in the Water DF While the spell is in effect, all sharks, feeders in the depths, and creatures with the blood frenzy ability in the area gain a +2 bonus to Strength and Constitution and take a –2 penalty to AC. PRG:MC
Blur   Attacks miss subject 20% of the time. PRG:CRB
Boiling Blood   Targets take fire damage; orcs get +2 Strength. PRG:UM
Bone Fists   The bones of your targets’ joints grow thick and sharp, protruding painfully through the skin at the knuckles, elbows, shoulders, spine, and knees. PPC:MaTT
Build Trust   Gain various bonuses when interacting with the target. PRG:UI
Bullet Shield   You gain a +4 deflection bonus to AC against firearm attacks. PRG:UC

Garrulous Grin   This spell plants a seed of supernatural fear deep in a subject’s mind, causing self-doubt, stuttering, and evasiveness. PPC:SpyHB
Ghost whip    You create a ghost touch whip that you may wield.  PRG:OA
Ghostly Disguise   You look like a ghost of yourself. PRG:UM
Glide   You take no falling damage, move 60 ft./round while falling. PRG:APG
Haunting Mists   Creatures are shaken and take Wis damage. PRG:UM
Heat Metal   Makes metal so hot it damages those who touch it. PRG:CRB
Heckle   You shift the target’s attitude one category toward hostile regarding you and everyone within 30 feet of it at the time the spell is cast. PPC:AA
Hidden speech    You greatly enhance the ability of the subjects to communicate hidden messages to each other.  PRG:APG
Hidden Presence   Prevent creatures from noticing your presence. PRG:UI
Hideous Laughter   Subject loses actions for 1 round/level. PRG:CRB
Hold animal    This spell functions like hold person, except that it affects an animal instead of a humanoid.  PRG:CRB
Hold person    Paralyzes one humanoid for 1 round/level.  PRG:CRB
Howling agony    Screaming pain limits the target’s actions. PRG:UM
Human Potential   The target chooses one ability score and gains a +2 enhancement bonus to that ability score. The bonus confers the usual benefit to skills and abilities based on the ability enhanced, but does not affect bonus spells or skill ranks. PPC:AA
Hypercognition    Quickly perform a linguistics, knowledge, or intelligence check with a bonus equal to CL.  PRG:OA
Hypnotic Pattern   Fascinates 2d4 + level HD of creatures. PRG:CRB
Id insinuation I   Confuse target creature for as long as you concentrate.  PRG:OA
Implant false reading    You implant a false psychometric reading into an object, imbuing the item with misleading information PRG:OA
Inflict pain    Inflict target creature with pain, causing a -4 penalty to attack rolls and skill / ability checks. PRG:OA
Instant armor    You instantly wrap your body in a suit of armor made from opaque force for 1 min / level. PRG:APG
Instigate psychic duel   You begin a psychic duel with a creature. This psychic duel takes place on a binary mindscape that includes only two minds: yours and the target’s.   PRG:OA
Investigative Mind   Roll twice and take the higher roll when using certain mental skills. PRG:ACG
Invisibility   Subject is invisible for 1 min./level or until it attacks. PRG:CRB
Ironskin    You gain a +4 enhancement bonus to your existing natural armor bonus for 1 min / level.  
Jitterbugs   Targets gets –4 penalty on all Dex and Dex-based skill checks, and cannot take the delay, ready, or total defense actions. PRG:ARG
Kinetic Reverberation   Channels the force of an enemy’s attack back into its weapon. PRG:UC
Knock   Opens locked or magically sealed door. PRG:CRB
Know Peerage   Target uses your Knowledge (nobility) ranks. PRG:UI
Levitate   Subject moves up and down at your direction. PRG:CRB
Life Pact   Affected creatures automatically donate hp to stabilize fallen ally. PRG:ACG
Locate Object   Senses direction toward object (specific or type). PRG:CRB
Mad Hallucination   Target takes penalties to mental actions. PRG:UM

Mind Over Matter   You blur the lines between mind and body, reassigning ability damage or drain your target has taken to a different ability score. PPC:OO
Mindshock   You charge yourself with violent psychic energy so attacks you make with weapons, natural weapons, and unarmed strikes cause the target to recall pain suffered in the past. PPC:OO
Mind thrust II   You divine the most vulnerable portions of your opponent’s mind and overload it with a glut of psychic information    PRG:OA
Minor Image   As silent image, plus some sound. PRG:CRB
Mirror Hideaway   As many as eight creatures hide in an extradimensional space. PRG:ACG
Mirror Image   Creates decoy duplicates of you. PRG:CRB
Misdirection   Misleads divinations for 1 creature or object. PRG:CRB
Miserable Pity   Opponents cannot attack a pathetic creature. PRG:UM
Muffle sound   You suppress sounds made by the targets, granting them a +4 bonus on Stealth checks.  PRG:ACG
Object reading   You read the psychic impressions left upon an object by emotionally or psychically charged events in the item’s history, or the information imprinted by the charge object or implant false reading spells.  PRG:OA
Obscure Object   Masks object against scrying. PRG:CRB
Oneiric horror   You cause the subject to believe it is being attacked by a creature out of its nightmares.  PRG:OA
Open Book   Make it permanently easier to learn more about a target. PRG:UI
Oppressive Boredom   Target loses its next action. PRG:UM
Owl’s Wisdom   Subject gains +4 to Wis for 1 min./level. PRG:CRB
Pain Strike    Pain strike racks the targeted creature with agony, inflicting 1d6 points of nonlethal damage per round for 1 round per level.  PRG:APG
Paranoia    The target believes everyone it sees is an enemy. The target becomes hostile to all creatures, treating all creatures as enemies and only itself as an ally.  PRG:OA
Passing Fancy   When you cast this spell, you dictate one specific topic or recent event and instill a magical obsession with that subject within the target. PPC:SpyHB
Perceive Cues  M Your senses become preternaturally keen, and you gain insight into subtle behavioral cues. For the duration of the spell, you receive a +5 competence bonus on Perception and Sense Motive checks.  PRG:APG

Bilocation    The spell creates an identical copy of you, along with everything you wear and carry, anywhere you choose within range; you exist in two places at once until the spell ends.  
Binding  M  A binding spell creates a magical restraint to hold a creature.   
Brilliant inspiration    You open a link between your mind and the subject’s mind, giving advice and encouragement for as long as the spell is in effect.   
Call construct  M  This spell functions as instant summons, except it can only summon a construct you control.  
Charm monster (mass)    This spell functions like charm monster, except that mass charm monster affects a number of creatures whose combined HD do not exceed twice your level, or at least one creature regardless of HD.   
Clenched fist  F/DF  This spell functions like interposing hand, except that the hand can also push or strike one opponent that you select.   
Create demiplane    This spell functions as create lesser demiplane, except the area is larger and you can add more features to the plane.  
Death Clutch   Rip out someone’s heart. PRG:HA
Demand  M/DF  This spell functions like sending, but the message can also contain a suggestion (see the suggestion spell), which the subject does its best to carry out.  
Dimensional lock    You create a shimmering emerald barrier that completely blocks extradimensional travel.

Euphoric Tranquility  M/DF  A creature under the effect of this enchantment enters a state of euphoria.   
Fool’s forbiddance  M  Through your antics and performance, you create an area of warding that adversely affects all enemies that dare enter it.

Frightful aspect  M  You become a larger, awful version of yourself. You grow to size Large, and take on features that horrify your enemies.

Maze    You banish the subject into an extra-dimensional labyrinth.

Moment of prescience    This spell grants you a sixth sense.  
Orb of the void  M  You create a small weightless sphere of pure negative energy.  
Phasic Challenge   Target one enemy and one willing ally. Both targets remain visible and audible, and can see and hear other creatures, but cannot physically interact with any creature save one another. PPC:MaTT
Planar ally (greater)  M  This spell functions like lesser planar ally, except you may call a single creature of 12 HD or less, or two creatures of the same kind whose HD total no more than 12.  
Planar binding (greater)    This spell functions like lesser planar binding, except that you may call a single creature of 12 HD or less, or up to three creatures of the same kind whose Hit Dice total no more than 12.  
Possession (greater)    You attempt to possess a creature by projecting your soul into its body.  
Power word stun    You utter a single word of power that instantly causes one creature of your choice to become stunned, whether the creature can hear the word or not.  
Prediction of failure    You wrack the target’s body and mind with the anguish and suffering of every bitter failure it will ever experience, rendering it permanently shaken and sickened.  
Prismatic wall    Prismatic wall creates a vertical, opaque wall- a shimmering, multicolored plane of light that protects you from all forms of attack.  
Protection from Spells  M  The subject gains a +8 resistance bonus on saving throws against spells and spell-like abilities (but not against supernatural and extraordinary abilities).  
Prying eyes (greater)  M  You create a number of semi-tangible, visible magical orbs (called “eyes”) equal to 1d4 + your caster level. These eyes move out, scout around, and return as you direct them when casting the spell.  
Psychic crush IV    Using your psychic power, you invade the mind of the target and tear it asunder, causing massive internal damage to both its mind and body.  
Refuge  M  When you cast this spell, you create powerful magic in a specially prepared object.   
Scintillating pattern  M  A twisting pattern of coruscating colors weaves through the air, affecting creatures within.  
Screen    This spell creates a powerful protection from scrying and observation.  
Shout (greater)    You emit an ear-splitting yell that deafens and damages creatures in its path.   
Spell immunity (greater)  DF  The warded creature is immune to the effects of one specified spell for every four levels you have.

Divide mind    You partition your mind to maximize your mental power. Until the spell ends, you roll twice and use the higher result for all Will saves, Intelligence checks, and Intelligence-based skill checks.  
Dominate monster    This spell functions like dominate person, except that the spell is not restricted by creature type.  
Dream voyage    This spell functions as dream travel, but you and your companions travel through the Dimension of Dreams in a fantastical vehicle of your own devising that halves the travel time.   
Foresight  M/DF  This spell grants you a powerful sixth sense in relation to yourself or another.  
Form of the Alien Dragon III   This spell functions as per form of the alien dragon II, except it also allows you to take the form of a Huge esoteric or outer dragon. PPC:LoD
Freedom    The subject is freed from spells and effects that restrict movement.  
Gate  M Creates an interdimensional connection between your plane of existence and a plane you specify, allowing travel between those two planes in either direction.  
Heroic invocation    Using worlds of ancient power, you bestow heroic powers on all creatures subject to this spell.  
Hold monster (mass)  M/DF  This spell functions like hold person, except that it affects any living creature that fails its Will save.  
Impenetrable Veil M Enchant a target so it is nearly impossible to detect by both magical and mundane means, granting it multiple benefits. PPC:MaTT
Implosion    This spell causes a destructive resonance in a corporeal creature’s body.  
Imprisonment    When you cast imprisonment and touch a creature, it is entombed in a state of suspended animation (see the temporal stasis spell) in a small sphere far beneath the surface of the ground.  
Interplanetary teleport    This spell functions as teleport, except there is truly no range limit and you do not need to have seen your destination, though you must have a solid grasp of which world you wish to travel to (“the third planet from the sun” is an acceptable destination, but “a habitable world near that bright star” is not).  
Mage’s disjunction    All magical effects and magic items within the radius of the spell, except for those that you carry or touch, are disjoined.

Maze of Madness and Suffering M Send a target into a dangerous extradimensional maze. PRG:HA
Microcosm    You plunge the targets’ minds into a veiled immersive mindscape of your own design.  
Mind swap (major)    This spell is similar to possession, except you switch minds with the target, so instead of the target’s soul sharing its body with yours and being unable to act, the target’s mind moves to your body and can control it as if you each had cast possession on the other.  
Overwhelming presence  M  Your presence inspires incredible awe in those nearby.  
Power word kill    You utter a single word of power that instantly kills one creature of your choice, whether the creature can hear the word or not.   
Psychic crush V    Using your psychic power, you invade the mind of the target and tear it asunder, causing massive internal damage to both its mind and body.  
Psychic image    You envelop your consciousness in a quasi-real image of yourself.  
Resplendent Mansion   Conjure an opulent mansion several stories tall. PRG:UI
Soul bind  F  You draw the soul from a newly dead body and imprison it in a black sapphire gem.   
Spell immunity (greater communal)  DF  The warded creature is immune to the effects of one specified spell for every four levels you have.   
Suffocation (mass)  M  This spell extracts the air from the target’s lungs, causing swift suffocation.  
Summon monster IX      
Telekinetic storm    You generate a storm of telekinetic energy that emanates from you, ripping through the spell’s area of effect with devastating force.  
Teleportation circle    You create a circle on the floor or other horizontal surface that teleports, as greater teleport, any creature who stands on it to a designated spot.   
Time stop    This spell seems to make time cease to flow for everyone but you. In fact, you speed up so greatly that all other creatures seem frozen, though they are actually still moving at their normal speeds.  
Tower of iron will V    You project a fortress of mental power that blocks out the psychic energy of others, granting mental strength and resiliency to all inside the area.  
Transmute blood to acid  M  You transmute blood in the target’s body to acid.  
Wail of the banshee    When you cast this spell, you emit a terrible, soul-chilling scream that possibly kills creatures that hear it (except for yourself).  
Wall of suppression  M  You create a wall of glittering motes that suppresses or even negates any magical effect passing through it.   
Weird    This spell functions like phantasmal killer, except it can affect more than one creature.  
Wish    Wish is the mightiest spell a wizard or sorcerer can cast.
