Saving Throw Fort partial; Spell Resistance yes
This devastating spell causes a ray of dark brown mist to lance towards any target in range. The caster must succeed at a ranged touch attack to strike the target with a ray of ending. Any creature struck by a ray of ending must make a Fortitude saving throw or be erased from existence with a soundless explosion of brown smoke. This ending is so final that all spell effects currently in effect from non-permanent spells cast by the victim are instantly and automatically dispelled. Restoring a creature to existence after they succumb to this spell is difficult. First, a miracle or wish must be used to undo the ending effect of this spell. This merely restores the target’s body and soul to existence; he must still be brought back to life with one of the appropriate spells. If the victim resists the ray of ending with a successful Fortitude saving throw, he avoids being erased from existence, but the ray still causes the soundless explosion of brown smoke with the victim at its center.
The cloud of brown smoke created by this spell persists for one round per level of the caster, and fills a spread with a radius of 30 feet. This cloud of thick smoke provides total concealment to everything within its area. Additionally, the brown smoke eats away at the knowledge, willpower, and personality of all sentient creatures in the region. Each round a creature remains in the smoke cloud, it must make a Fortitude saving throw or suffer 1d6 points of ability score damage to its Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma scores. Holding ones breath in this cloud does not help against this damage.
This magical cloud cannot be dispersed by any strength of wind, although it cannot form underwater. It can also be burned off by massive fire attacks such as that created by a fireball, a fire storm, or a fiery breath weapon.
