Steampunk Lincoln

A man, strangely dressed in a tall, black hat and bizarre harness of some sort, materializes out of thin air. He takes one look at the evil horde you face and says, “Let us have faith that right makes might, and in that faith, let us, to the end, dare to do our duty as we understand it!”

Steampunk Harness

Lincoln’s awesome steampunk harness combines the properties of a +1 mithral breastplate and +1 spiked gauntlets (thus, his power gauntlet melee attack). Once per day, upon command, the harness enables it wearer to plane shift (as a 9th-level cleric). Upon command, the harness projects a lightning bolt (5d6, Ref DC 14) as a 5th-level wizard.

Aura moderate conjuration; CL 9th; Slot armor, hands; Price 60,405 gp; Requirements Craft Wondrous Item, lightning bolt, plane shift; Cost 30,202 gp, 5 sp.; Weight 17 lbs.

This item is well beyond the starting equipment Lincoln should have; consequently, he is CR +1.

Abraham Lincoln, better known as Steampunk Lincoln, hails from a strange plane where magic and science developed side-by-side. In his native land, Lincoln attempted to go into politics to combat the spread of chattel slavery via legal means. Unfortunately, he was thwarted in a series of public debates and discredited by a fabricated scandal regarding his love life. Unable to gain ground in government, he returned to work as an engineer. When his nation erupted in civil war, Lincoln knew he couldn’t just stand by and do nothing. He forged his amazing steampunk harness and joined the Union to fight against the Confederacy in order to restore his beloved country and to abolish slavery.

After the Union’s victory in that war, Lincoln modified his steampunk harness so that he could travel the multiverse, doing battle against the forces of chaos and tyranny. He is often assisted by the Emancipators:
