Sorcerer Variant: Battle Sorcerer

Below is a direct port of the Battle Sorcerer class from the SRD applied to the Pathfinder Core version of the sorcerer. It works quite well as is with the changes to the current sorcerer class. The Abyssal and Draconic Bloodlines are particularly well suited for this variant. I have not included the bloodline descriptions or much of the information which duplicates the core class.

Changes from the SRD: The Battle sorcerer swapped intimidate for bluff, under PfRPG sorcerers already get intimidate as class skill so I didn’t remove bluff from the class skills list.

Battle Sorcerer: Variant Class

The battle sorcerer is no weak arcanist, hiding behind the fighters. Instead, she is a capable physical combatant who mixes magical prowess with fighting skill.

Alignment: Any

Hit Die: d8

Class Skills

The sorcerer’s class skills are Appraise (Int), Bluff (Cha), Craft (Int), Fly (Dex), Intimidate (Cha), Knowledge (arcana) (Int), Profession (Wis), Spellcraft (Int), and Use Magic Device (Cha).

Skill Ranks per Level:

2 + Int modifier.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency

A battle sorcerer is proficient with all simple weapons, plus a single one handed or light martial weapon of her choice. Battle sorcerers are also proficient with light armor. A battle sorcerer can cast sorcerer spells derived from her battle sorcerer class levels while in light armor without the normal arcane spell failure chance. Like any other arcane spellcaster, a battle sorcerer wearing medium or heavy armor incurs a chance of arcane spell failure if the spell in question has a somatic component. A multiclass battle sorcerer still incurs the normal arcane spell failure chance for arcane spells received from other classes.

Other than the above sections the battle sorcerer is in every way identical to the sorcerer base class.
