All-Around Vision (Ex) A half-blind medusa cannot see through the eyes on its humanoid face, relying entirely upon the eyes of the snakes it has for hair. Unlike other creatures with all-around vision, it does not gain a racial bonus on Perception checks, though she remains immune to flanking.

Fascinating Gaze (Su) Fascinated for 1 round, 30 feet, Will DC 14 negates. Medusas and blind medusas are unaffected. The save DC is Charisma-based.

Poison (Ex) Bite—injury; save Fort DC 14; frequency 1/round for 6 rounds; effect 1d2 Str; cure 1 save. The save DC is Constitution-based.

Half-blind medusas are sickly descendants of common medusas, noted for their relative physical frailty, and for the cataracts covering the eyes on their humanoid faces. As a result of these latter imperfections, a half-blind medusa’s gaze attack is significantly weaker than the petrifying gaze of a fully-sighted medusa. The cataracts on the humanoid eyes of a half-blind medusa do not prevent it from seeing the world, as it can still see its surroundings through the eyes of the snakes that serve as its hair.

Though half-blind medusas are scorned by their fully-sighted kin, and are prone to self-loathing, their condition comes with some benefits. Unlike full-strength medusas, half-blind medusas are not at risk of petrification from thier own gazes, nor are they affected by the gaze attacks of other half-blind medusas. This allows half-blind medusas to safely congregate in groups. Gangs of half-blind medusas tend to foster nothing but hatred for the wider world, and freely vicitmize others for their own benefit.

Demihuman Medusas

Standard and lesser medusas are more powerful than any of the standard player character races. In constrast, a medusa with one humanoid parent, known as a demihuman medusa, has capabilities closer to those of a human. Most notably, a demihuman medusa lacks poison and all but a rudimentary gaze attack.

Demihuman medusas are defined by their class levels—they do not possess racial Hit Dice. All demihuman medusas have the following racial traits.

+2 Dexterity, +2 Charisma, –2 Constitution: You are graceful and alluring, but frail.
Medium monstrous humanoid: You are a Medium creature with the monstrous humanoid creature type. You have no bonuses or penalties due to size.
Normal Speed: You have a base speed of 30 feet.
All-Around Vision (Ex): You can see in all directions at once, and cannot be flanked. Unlike other creature with all-around vision, you do not gain a racial bonus on Perception checks.
Darkvision: You have darkvision to a range of 60 feet.
Fascinating Gaze (Su): You gain the fascinating gaze special attack of a lesser medusa, except your gaze only functions when you are actively gazing at a creature as an attack action; when you are not actively gazing at a creature, that creature is unaffected by your gaze as if it were out of range. The save DC of your fascinating gaze equals 10 + your Charisma modifier.
Natural Armor: You gain a +1 natural armor bonus to AC.
Snake Bite: Your snake like hair can bite your foes. You gain a bite attack that deals 1d4 points of damage on a successful hit. This is a primary attack, or a secondary attack if you are wielding manufactured weapons. Your bite is not poisonous.
Languages: You begin play speaking Common. If you have a high Intelligence score, you can choose any of the following: Aklo, Boggard, Draconic, Undercommon.
