Swamp

The Swamp terrain gives the following bonuses:

Soul of the Land: the shaitan adds the favored terrain bonus to her Spellcraft checks.

Protection of the Land: the shaitan is constantly under the effect of detect snares and pits.

Power of the Land: when the shaitan casts a negative energy spell, she adds half the favored terrain bonus to her caster level.

Ward of the Land: when the shaitan casts a negative energy spell, she adds half the favored terrain bonus to her caster level.

Channeled Leyline: the shaitan can transform her elemental servant in a mud elemental (of the same type available for her earth elemental servitor), or in a mire brute, although she takes a –14 penalty on her effective druid level for a mire brute.

Ley Assault: the following abilities become available with Ley Assault when Swamp terrain is selected:

Quicksand

The shaitan can awaken the grudge of the marsh against her foes. Quicksand works as suffocation against a target within 60 feet of the shaitan and physically transforms the space occupied by that creature into quicksand, meaning that any creature standing in those spaces must make a save or start suffocating as per the spell. This effect lasts as long as the shaitan concentrates on it and, each turn, the quicksand spreads further by one square in each direction, possibly engulfing other creatures. The shaitan can focus on quicksand for a maximum number of rounds equal to 3 + her favored terrain bonus. Using quicksand consumes 3 Ley points, and requires the shaitan to be in a swamp terrain.

Life Sink

The shaitan draws life force from an opponent by using the fell energies of swamps. The shaitan must make a ranged touch attack against a creature within 30 feet. If the attack succeeds, the target suffers 1d8 points of negative energy damage for every 2 shaitan HD, plus the favored terrain bonus of swamp terrain. If life sink is used in a swamp, the shaitan recovers the same amount of hit points. Excess hit points, up to three times the favored terrain bonus, are converted to temporary hit points. Using life sink consumes 2 Ley points.

Corrosive Bubble

The shaitan covers an enemy within 30 feet with a sheet of acidic slime. The target suffers 1d6 points of acid damage for every 2 shaitan HD (maximum 5d6). If the target fails a Fortitude saving throw, the damage is repeated the next round, and the enemy takes 2d6 points of acid damage the following round. Using corrosive bubble consumes 1 Ley point.

Leyline Blessing: the following abilities become available with Leyline Blessing when Swamp terrain is selected for Ley Assault:

Putrescence

The shaitan channels the energies of rot and decay in a touched creature. The target suffers 1 point of Constitution drain each round, but gains immunity to all other forms of ability damage and drain, negative levels, mind-affecting effects, critical hits and precision damage. The target also gains damage reduction 15/-. The effect lasts for 1 round per shaitan HD, or until the target has Constitution 1, at which point the effect stops. If the target cannot suffer from Constitution drain, the whole effect is negated. Putrescence costs 3 Ley points and can be used only if the shaitan is in a swamp terrain.

Death’s Vigor

The shaitan channels negative energy into a touched creature, attuning it to the powers of death. The creature regains 3d8 hit points plus the favored terrain bonus for swamps, and is healed by negative energy rather than positive energy for the next 10 minutes. If death’s vigor is used in a swamp terrain, the target is also cured of all temporary negative levels. Using death’s vigor costs 2 Ley points.
