Desert

The Desert terrain gives the following bonuses:

Soul of the Land: the shaitan adds the favored terrain bonus to her Constitution checks, adding a further +4 bonus if it is a check made to resist heat.

Protection of the Land: the shaitan is constantly under the effect of endure elements.

Power of the Land: when the shaitan casts a spell with the fire descriptor, she adds half the favored terrain bonus to her caster level.

Ward of the Land: the shaitan gains fire resistance equal to twice the favored terrain bonus.

Channeled Leyline: the shaitan can transform her elemental servant in a sandman or sandling, without penalties to her effective druid level. At 7th Hit Die, a sandman elemental servant becomes large.

Ley Assault: the following abilities become available with Ley Assault when Desert terrain is selected:

Mummification

Focusing the thirst of the desert on a single enemy, the shaitan tries to kill her target. The target must make a Fortitude saving throw. On a failed save, the target dies; this is a death effect. On a successful save, or if the target is immune to death effects, the target instead suffers 1d8 points of damage per shaitan HD and suffers 2d4 points of damage to all ability scores. A second Fortitude saving throw can halve the ability score damage inflicted. Using mummification consumes 3 Ley points, and requires the shaitan to be in a desert terrain.

Dust Devil

The shaitan summons an eddy of debris and dry wind in a 10-foot radius burst centered on a point in space within 60 feet. All creatures in the area suffer 1d4 slashing damage per shaitan HD (maximum 10d4) and 1d4 fire damage per shaitan HD (maximum 10d4) and are dazed for 1 round and blinded for 1d6 rounds. A successful Reflex save halves the slashing damage and negates the blindness, while a successful Fortitude save halves the fire damage and negates the daze. If the shaytan is in a desert terrain, the dust devil remains in place for 1 round every 2 shaitan HD, dealing damage each round. Using dust devil consumes 2 Ley points.

Heatshock

The shaitan summons blistering heat to damage and derange her enemies. Heatshock deals 1d6 points of fire damage for every 3 HD the shaitan has (maximum 5d6), plus the favored terrain bonus of desert terrain, to all creatures in a 20 feet radius emanation centered on an enemy within a Long range. Targets must make a Fortitude saving throw, or suffer 20% miss chance with all attacks for 1d4 rounds. On a successful save, they are dazzled instead. Targets apply their armor check penalty as a penalty on their saving throw. Using heatshock consumes 1 Ley point.

Leyline Blessing: the following abilities become available with Leyline Blessing when Desert terrain is selected for Ley Assault:

Dust Form

the shaitan summons the energies of the desert to surge through her allies. Dust form provides the benefits of fire shield and particulate form to one creature within Short range, and up to one additional creature for every 6 shaitan HD, to a maximum of 4 creatures at 18th Hit Die. These effects last 1 round per shaitan HD. Dust form costs 3 Ley points and can be used only if the shaitan is in desert terrain.

Fever

The shaitan channels the healing properties of heat. Fever works as remove disease and neutralize poison on a single touched creature, and removes the confused, fatigued, and staggered conditions. If fever is used on desert terrain, the target also recovers from all ability score damage and can make a save to remove any temporary negative level it is suffering from. A failed save does not have any negative effect. Using fever costs 2 Ley points.
